Here are some of the pictures of Monet's flower gardens. It was so pretty there. Some of the flowers I knew the names of and some I did not. I just enjoyed them

And then there are these pictures. This is the daughter and hubby who were traveling with us. They live in London and he moved them from their postage stamp size apt. to a house with a proper backyard while we were in Paris.

There were many iris in the gardens. Where we were through with spring here it was in full swing there. I'm sure the gardens look different in the summer. I saw some iris I have grown and some that I wish I had grown.

Wow Lynn,
What a beautiful garden! I just love the dark purple Iris. Thanks for sharing with us.

I spent time looking at Monet's paintings in Paris before we went to the gardens. I must say I see why he was inspired to paint the gardens. I was intrigued to see the house. He had the walls painted pastel colors in there and there were painting everywhere but not all of them were his. A lot of the paintings in his house were Japanese. This got my sil asking questions. It seems that Monet loved Japanese art. My son says that some of his technique is like the way the Japanese paint. I don't know about that kind of thing but I know the pictures are quite lovely.
