It looks like a Euphorbia!
To verify this, you will need to make a tiny cut, or scratch (at the base of the plant would be a good spot). If the cut bleeds white latex, then it is a euphorbia!
Now the fun part, it is a huge genus, and it will take a real effort to locate the exact species!
Ron I was thinking the same thing that it might be a Euphorbia of some kind this thing likes to bite I've had to pull thorns from my fingers when I first got it but I'll try and see if I can't scratch it to see if it bleeds white sap at least I have a name to start with Thanks Ron
