My trip is almost over. I have been salivating over the roses that are a staple in just about every single yard, along businesses, and the streets. It must be perfect growing conditions because they are the biggest rose blooms I have ever seen in my life. Beautiful pinks, reds, oranges, yellows, whites. I got up early the other day and walked around the area with my camera hoping to take some pictures of some of the gorgeous plantings I see from one villa to the next, but let nerves get the best of me. Wasn't sure how people would feel about a stranger snapping photos of their property and since I don't speak Italian I wouldn't be able to communicate to them that I just wanted to take some of the beauty home with me in the form of photographs. Can't take cuttings through customs either!
Oh...and my daughter's neighbor has this striking tree that I did get a picture of and learned later that it's called a monkey puzzle tree. A lot of you may know what that is, but I had never seen one before.
