Karen, the first pic is my ajuga 'Chocolate Chip' - the leaves are narrower
The 2nd pic is of ajuga 'Bronze Beauty'. I think I may have shared one or both of these with you last year.

They do spread, but I don't find them to be a problem plant as the growth is moderate and the places I have them planted can use the ground cover.
