You know, I don't understand why people call '2' the Terrible Two's. They can be crummier at 5 y/o. Who put a label on that age? Kids can be messed up when they're 10 or 31. This is my humble opinion ~ GOOD PARENTING makes all the difference in the WORLD in child rearing. Folks can 'blame' thing on others but there's nothing that replaces a great parent. 'You' had the kid and guess what.....they will always belong to 'you'. No....they don't leave home. No they don't walk away from 'you'. They always return 'home'. You know in The Wizard of Oz when Dorothy says,"THERE'S NO PLACE like HOME." It's true. Kids are like a herd of mice ~ they always go home.

I was thinking about that "Terrible 2" thing this morning while I was waiting for my wife at the market. I was sitting on a bench at the entrance and a Mom came in with her little girl. The little girl saw me and her eyes followed me until she couldn't see me any more once they were inside the store. She was about 2 though and she was certainly a cutie. By the way, I had on my Christmas hat. I wonder what was going on in that little girl's mind.

*** Season 2 Valentines Day Special: Huntington Botanical Gardens - A Love Story ***
=======================================================
David Walrod takes you on a Valentines Day Adventure at the Huntington Botanical Gardens. In this episode you'll get quick tour, a love story, and learn how to prune and care for the flower that symbolizes love - the Rose. So grab your loved one and enjoy the first Urban Dirt Valentines Day Special.

UPDATE: I spoke more about Rose Feeding with Laurie Jutzi after filming. She said another reason to hold off on premature rose bush feeding is to prevent aphid infestation. Time your application of rose food as spring's young leaves have turned from red to green. Rose bushes do love fertilizer, so regular feeding March through October is beneficial. Try using organic blends that feed the soil, rather than synthetic fertilizers that directly feed the plant...this will also help keep the pest's a little more subdued. -David Walrod
