Hello Garden Guru's
I cut-up Red Pontiac (seed) potatoes into pieces. One to three eyes per piece, layed them out in the sun to allow to dry for a few days and then planted them in a section of a plastic barrel (no bottom) with topsoil and a bit of old cow manure. Approx. 2/3 of the potatoes germinated and are robustly growing. I wanted to shovel some dirt from one of the barrels that contained seed potatoes that didn't grow into a one of the others that was growing. When I turned the soil over I saw one of the non-growing seed potatoes full of what looked like termites. Uncovered other non-growing potatoes and the same thing...
1. How do I get rid of them and save my potatoes?
2. Will this destroy the growing plants or ruin the growing potatoes under the soil? (I'm trying to figure-out how to insert a photo of the little creatures..)
