Dor how well did yours do last year? Inquiring minds want to know.
We have done updside tomatoes for years now.........we use just the basic white hanging pot , that you see at all the garden centers, have used both the fabric sheets, and coffee filters, and found they both work well. We do the tiny tim tomatoe's, and its great working out in the yard, and grabbing a couple to munch on, and we get "lots".
I have also seen where people have used the 5 gallon plastic pails, for larger tomoatoe's...........but they put a piece of dowel through the hole so the tomatoe's will grow straight down........... I guess we could do that with the pot we use, as the tomatoe plant wants to start to grow "up".towards the sun, but regardless, it has worked for us the way we are doing it, and they are so yummmmy.
I was thinking about trying this in some buckets I have. I get 40 pounds of cat litter from costco here and it comes in large buckets. I could make a hole in the bottle vor the plant. Though I am not sre how to keep the plant in there till it gets big enough it cant fall out? Ok, maybe i am just not seeing somthing here..lol

That is a great idea with the buckets as they already have a hanger so to speak and are rated for a lot of weight. I have some buckets I think I will use. Plan on planting them this week as it will be light when I get home from work. I'll try to get some pics posted when I do.

Ther is an article all about tomatoes in the book that I got last week. The book is Mother Earth News. The article is,
Enjoy Fresh Tomatoes All Year.
They also have a web site.
www.motherearthnews.com I haven't went to the site yet but I thought I might take a look. Tomatoes all year would be nice!
